I am 58 years old and a member of the DVG since 1985 in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Since 1991 I am chairman of the Club GSV Friedrichsort (Kiel). During my membership in the GSV I have been working as trainer and protection work helper.
I have taken part in the State Championship of the VPG/IPO-Sector with several of my dogs. Together with my male Malinois Ondo von Löwenfels I took part in the dhv/DM in Potsdam; additionally, I participated six times in the International German Championship with the SV (Club for German Shepherds) as police dog handler.
Also in 1991, I was appointed dhv-Judge, now DVG-Judge, and am recognized by FCI. Since then, I have judged 14 National Championships in the IPO and FH, including in 2010 the DVG America Championship, in 2012 the Bundessiegerprüfung for the DVG, and also the German Championship (dhv), in 2013 the National Championship of the Schutzhund Australia, in 2014 the VDH-Championship IPO FH, and in 2015 the DVG America Championship.
In March 2010 I began my work as OfS (National Training Director ) for DVG (Germany). My duties include the helper training in protection work and the selection of appropriate helpers for the Bundessiegerprüfungen in the DVG.
Since 1987, I am in police service as a police dog handler and run the guard protection and explosive detector dog section. Since 2005, I am an instructor at the Police Dog Training School. My main task is to train detector dogs for explosives and drugs..
Furthermore, I’m currently working with my dog Tia Airport Hannover in IPO-Sport.
I hope to be able to soon start working for the German Championship with Tia.
It is an honor and privilege to judge the AWDF IPO Championship 2018 in Northern California. I wish the host all the best for a wonderful competition.
